Beginning the restoration process. Careful attention is given to breaking down each piano, as every part must be properly labeled for accurate re-assembly. In this picture, the dampers are being removed and numbered.

The old hammers to this Baldwin are very worn, and are definitely in need of replacement.

In order to remove the plate for restoring, all of the plate screws have to be loosened and taken out.

After the glue is applied, each piece is arranged on the soundboard press.

Once every piece of spruce is in place, the clamps are quickly attached and tightened down. This enables the glue to properly spread and dry evenly.
